A Life in Brushstrokes: The George MacMillan Collection - CAWH Art Sale

Description

Some artists paint places. George MacMillan painted time, and in many cases, the slow, graceful transformation of West Hampstead and Hampstead as it unfolded before him, canvas by canvas, decade by decade.

The Community Association for West Hampstead (CAWH) is proud to present a charity art sale celebrating the life and prolific legacy of the late George MacMillan, a true chronicler of our neighbourhood. With characteristic generosity, George donated his entire body of work so that it could do what he always believed art should do: bring people together and give back to the community he loved.

Every painting that is sold directly funds CAWH's outreach programmes, and every buyer will go home with a piece of art, painted by George often from his home in West Hampstead. Come for the art. Stay for the stories. Leave with something extraordinary.
