"Treasures" - British Museum Object Handling Session @ CAWH

Description

Join Community Partnerships staff from The British Museum for a relaxed object handling session at CAWH on the theme of Treasures. You will learn a bit about the history of the British Museum before we investigate handmade objects together, through lively conversation.

We will explore beautiful, innovative and curious objects from around the world that are considered treasures. From ceremonial objects and local finds to personal objects made to be passed on, these objects are linked to community identity and demonstrate creativity and craftsmanship from West Africa to the Arctic. We’ll share stories around how objects were used and consider similar treasures we may have at home.
